Gloria Koplin

Gloria Koplin, 82 of Evansville died Monday, December 24, 2018, at Alomere Health in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Gloria Elizabeth Koplin was born on June 24, 1936, in Warwick, North Dakota the daughter of John and Christine Whetham.  She was baptized in 1936, in Warwick and confirmed in 1950, in New Rockford, North Dakota.  Gloria graduated from the New Rockford High School in 1954.

Gloria and Melvin Koplin were married on May 28, 1954, in New Rockford.  They lived in Evansville, Minnesota, Melvin was a mechanic and worked for Sanford Irrigation of Elbow Lake, and Gloria was employed in the medical field and was very organized.  She worked for Dr. Lueders in Evansville as a receptionist and then with the Alexandria Clinic as a transcriptionist, totaling forty-one years.  Gloria belonged to Faith Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Evansville Senior Citizens.  She played organ and piano for Our Saviors Lutheran Church and then Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville.  Gloria enjoyed crocheting, flowers, cooking, baking her home baked bread and buns, and especially her family.

She is survived by her three children, Kristi (Peter) Mounts of Evansville, Richard (Margaret) Koplin of Dalton and David (Becky) Koplin of Campbell; eight grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Gimbel, Robert (Kelly) Mounts, Jennifer (Jeremy) Severson, Kelly (Nolan) Lubarski, Lance (Amanda) Koplin, Dallas (Katie) Koplin, Adam (Jeny) Koplin and Carrie (Andy) Clauson; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Bode of Portland, ND; brother-in-law, Tom (Sue) Koplin of Avon; sister-in-law, Virginia Koplin of Perham; numerous relatives and friends.  Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin on November 4, 1980, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Service: 11:30 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Faith Lutheran church in Evansville. Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville.

Visitation: one hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Reverend Sarah Berglund

Interment: Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville.
