Renee Langlie

Renee Elna Langlie, age 80 of Ashby, MN died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at her home.

Renee was born July 29, 1938, in Fergus Falls, MN. She was the daughter of Roy “Capper” and Ester (Brusven) Boe. Renee grew up in Ashby, and graduated from the Ashby High School. She worked as a secretary at the school and at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church.

On March 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Gayle Langlie at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church, and the couple made their home in Ashby. She and Gayle purchased the L.B. Hartz Store from her dad and ran it for several years. She served in Ashby’s post office for 30 years, retiring as Post Master on February 27, 1998.

Renee enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and craftwork, that she made many gifts of, and daily jigsaw puzzles on the internet. Her main concern was everybody else, and she loved to spoil her grandchildren. No one ever left her house without coffee and being fed.

Renee is survived by her husband Gayle; 4 daughters, Candace Ritten, Kim (David) Kaste, Jackie (Rick) Wolff, Diane “Doopie” (Paul) Christensen; grandchildren, Heidi (Shawn) Ashfeld, Heather (Chris) Jacobson, Brandy (Chad) Swinford, Emily Kaste, Brent Christensen; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Skyler, Cameron and Eli Jacobson, Marley Kaste and Thomas Ashfeld; brother, Allen (Linda) Boe; sister-in-law, Sandra Barry; brothers-in-law, Roger (Joyce) Langlie and Jack Langlie; numerous nieces & nephews, and her life-long friend, Ardis Evavold.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents; mother & father-in-law, Morris & Sylvia Langlie; son-in-law, Daniel Ritten; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Langlie; brother-in-law, David Barry and several aunts & uncles.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, Ashby, MN

Interment: Pelican Lake Cemetery, Ashby, MN
