Ruth Pederson

Ruth Helen Pederson, 89, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, December 12, 2019, at her home.

Ruth was born on January 5, 1930 in Shovel Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Chester and Ethel (Lyman) Sharbonda.  She attended school in Remer, Minnesota, and graduated from High School there.

On October 30, 1962, Ruth married Anthony Joshlin Pederson at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, and they were blessed with two children.

The couple made their home in Maine Township for six years, then moved to Battle Lake.  Anthony entered the Otter Tail Nursing Home in 1989, and Ruth continued to live in Battle Lake.  Sometime later, Ruth moved to Fergus Falls, where she has since resided.  Dedicated to her family, Ruth was proud to have had the opportunity to raise her two daughters.

In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed crafts and was passionate about cats.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Paulene (Anthony) Landuyt of Akeley, Minnesota and Minerva Pedersen of Underwood; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lew Sharbonda of Remer, Minnesota; a sister, Kay (Larry) Martinson of Cass Lake, Minnesota.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony on August 15, 1998; a brother, Roy Sharbonda; a sister, Josephine Ammerman; and a son-in-law, Greg Pedersen.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2019, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, with visitation one hour prior to services.

Interment: Lakewood Cemetery, Battle Lake, Minnesota
